World Mission
We believe that the whole world needs to hear the great news about Jesus, so we support various activities in other countries.
BMS World Mission

Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF)
Geoff and Karen Hillier
MAF is a Christian mission that fly light aircraft in developing countries in support of church, missions and other organizations to bring physical and spiritual care to those in need, in the name of Jesus. By using aircraft MAF are able to help missionaries and aid workers reach remote areas that would take days of arduous travel if it were possible to get there at all. MAF also support missionaries with IT services and other communications.
We support Geoff Hillier and his wife Karen who served for 11 years in Uganda, Mongolia and then Kenya. First of working as an aircraft engineer Geoff now works at the MAF International Operations centre for the Africa region, based in Ashford, Kent as the Manager of Quality. This work involves frequent trips to the programmes to ensure that the teams there are supported well and are working according to MAF’s high standards. He also works in setting of aviation and management standards, crucial to a modern aviation organization. Safety and stewardship are key in all MAF do, so these are strong emphases in Geoff’s work.
Kids Alive UK
In recent years, several teams have gone out from Upminster Baptist Church to work in a children’s home in Kenya. The home is supported by Kids Alive to provide shelter, food and education for otherwise homeless children, many orphaned by AIDS.
